title: DNS resolution sweep of all Navigator zones and credited client domains (September 2026)
evidence_type: dns-record
party: official

Nameserver and address records were resolved for 774 distinct domains, being every zone in Navigator's
Cloudflare account plus every domain in the public footer-credit census. Results were compared against
Navigator's Cloudflare nameserver pair and its six known origin IP addresses.

excerpt: "115 client domains resolve to a Navigator-operated origin server; 3 of them are not in the Cloudflare account and were previously uncounted."

portion_supported: >
A publicly reproducible floor for the hosting claim that does not depend on access to Navigator's
account: 115 named domains can be shown by anyone to resolve to servers Navigator operates. Also
raises the hosted-site floor by three sites found outside the Cloudflare account.
limitations: >
For the 184 Cloudflare-proxied zones the origin is deliberately hidden by the proxy, so from outside
it can be shown only that Navigator manages the DNS, not where the site is hosted. 52 zones resolve
to a host other than Navigator, meaning Navigator manages the domain but someone else hosts the site,
and 7 are Shopify storefronts hosted by Shopify. The headline figure of 252 client sites counts DNS
zones collapsed to sites and therefore mixes hosting with DNS management; this record is the more
  precise picture.
reproducibility_note: "dig NS <domain> and dig A <domain>, then compare against aaden.ns.cloudflare.com / amalia.ns.cloudflare.com and the six origin addresses listed in the IP registry evidence."

This sweep was run to test whether the hosted-site count could be raised. It raised it by three, which is marginal. The more useful result is the distinction it draws: how much of the roster Navigator hosts, versus manages DNS for, versus neither. Publishing that distinction is more defensible than publishing a single larger number.
